So here's the new Marmit Cybot 1984 Godzilla figure. I don't really have much to say about it other than that I don't like it very much. The one thing it's got going for it is the cool metallic blue on black color scheme but it's not exactly unique from Marmit.

Image

I don't like the sculpt, but I'm not sure if that's because I'd rather have a figure designed after the 1984 suit as opposed to the Cybot. I really don't know if that's my main problem with this sculpt or if it's something else but I just don't like it. To me there's nothing aesthetically appealing at all about this figure. It's just...there.

Image

My other problem is that the vinyl quality just sucks. I don't know if it's an economic reason or what but the quality of the vinyl is again downgraded from what I'm used to, resulting in a figure that feels very light and cheap when you pick it up. I had the same problem with the GMK Marmit. Most Marmits (and figures from just about every other similar company) have a nice sense of weight and quality to them. This figure doesn't have that and for the price you pay for these figures that's a real shame.

Gotta say, the neck looks pretty bad from the side. The seem between parts is waaaay obvious. The front view looks kinda funny to me too. Besides the lone spike, it appears kinda top heavy above the brow and too square... is this cybot accurate? I don't recall if it is or not, but my gut says no. The three quarter view is much better, both from behind and in front.

Wow! I completely agree with Legion. This Cybot 84 Godzilla is just lousy! Especially from the side profile view, where the head just looks like an unfinnished product. The dorsal spines look more like they belong on the later 90's Godzilla.

This makes me appreciate my Bandai Memorial Box Godzilla 84 even more! I love that figure!

Continuing with the Marmit theme...I made a trip into NYC today and thanks to Toy Tokyo, I picked up these 2 beauties! :D [img]

The "Burning Godzilla" I've wanted for a while now. I was hoping to hold out for the original teal version, but since that seemed unlikely, I decided to go with this version. While it's not as attractive as the teal, it is more "suit accurate" color-wise and still has more personality than Bandai's version(to my eye). As for the blue glitter Godzilla 2000, I just thought that this one looked cool....plus now I have Marmit Godzillas from the Showa, Heisei, and Millenium series. Gotta love those Marmit varmits![/img]

Here's my latest pickup: M1 bronze King Ghidorah. It was a lottery prize figure from the last WonderFest:
