Can and did beat the 2nd Showa Godzilla in his early 60's era days.
Beyond that would, in my opinion, lose to any future incarnation of Godzilla, including the more experienced and creative 70's era version of the 2nd Showa Godzilla.
30's Kong or 70's Kong Blown up to Godzilla size
Would lose to any Godzilla. Both forms lack any real durability to be much of a threat, as shown by their vulnerability to bullets.

Oh my god...ask ANYONE that has seen the Japanese version. Besides, at the time King Kong was more popular in Japan than Godzilla (this was only the third Godzilla movie) so why would they have shot a "Godzilla victorious" ending?

No problemo...I think everyone's heard that one. In fact, a columnist for Newsweek or something once said in a published column that he was "surprised" in his Tokyo hotel room when he watched King Kong vs. Godzilla late one night and Godzilla once. But as Steve Ryfle says, "He must have been drinking some good sake"
