This list was compiled by Sean Linkenback (who has popped up here recently, which is what stemmed the discussion in the first place) with input from collectors. I've wondered about what items would end up a revised list and which would be removed if this list was re-done today.

Zekend:
"Obviously the 50th Anniversary Memorial Box set should be on there, and several Bandai museum pieces. I'm thinking a lot of x-plus and marmits too!"

My response:
"I'm not sure exactly what I'd remove from that list aside from the Marmit figures. Maybe the Destroyah LD, the M-1 Manda, the Famicom game and some of the Trendmasters stuff. Though that last one is more of a personal preference if anything.

There's been a lot that's been released since that list was published. Enough to fill a whole 'nother volume of Sean's collectibles guide. But really, how much of it really deserves to be on a list of the greatest Godzilla collectibles of all time? There's just been so much of it vying for attention that true stand-outs are few and far between.

Items that come to mind immediately are the '05 Memorial Box (as already mentioned), the 6" Bandai Titanosaurus, the Marmit Monster Heaven Gigan, Bandai's bank account-draining R/C Mechagodzilla, maybe something from Bandai's die-cast series and maybe even Classic Media's Gojira DVD as it honestly is recognized as an important release even by those outside the fan community. If it wasn't such an underground release that flew so far under the radar I'd also be tempted to say Aoshima's gigantic Angilas figure. Failing that, I'd try to at least find room for their beautiful electronic maser cannons.

I think there needs to be more to an item's inclusion than just how cool it looks. How important and unique was it's release. What was it's impact? Will it leave some sort of legacy? Will people be talking about it 20 years from now? That said, I don't think the Bandai Museum figures have much of a place in a list like that. A lot of that is personal preference as, aside from the Yog monsters, I just don't think they're well well sculpted figures. Apparently the Japanese thought so too, as I've heard you couldn't even give these away in Japan. Seems to explain why the line was so short-lived. I'm sure there's room for something X-Plus on the list, but for the life of me I'm not sure what."

As discussion was contained in a thread outside the Toys and Figures forum I figured it would make sense at this point to move the discussion here. What does everyone think? Is there anyone with any input? I mean this is also just for fun and completely hypothetical. I'm also curious about who owns what from that original list.

Nice post guys, also nice to have Sean back around the forums! You've got some great suggestions for additions Mike, like the 50th Anniversary Memorial Box, Bandai Titanosaurus, Aoshima Anguirus, the RC MechaGodzilla, etc. Some other additions might be the Bandai Pearl Godzilla 2000 or the Bandai GMK Baragon.
Here's what I've got from the original list...

What I've got...
86) Battra Larva (Bandai)
82) Turbo Duo Godzilla Game
78) Mothra adult 1964 (Bandai)
76) Trendmasters 40th Anniversary set
74) Aggregate Stage Destroyah (Bandai)
67) Bandai Baragon
55) Godzilla's Greatest Adventures (Super Famicom)
50) Burning Godzilla (Bandai)
48) Bandai High Grade Godzilla 2 (Mine is made up of original pieces & pieces from the chronicles sets, so doesn't really count, but oh well)
45) Godzilla 1991 (Bandai)
37) Bandai Godzilla Memorial Box set
35) Bandai 1964 King Ghidora
34) Bandai Super Premium Godzilla
26) Bandai Godzilla Forever series
18) Bandai Theater Exclusive Meltdown Godzilla

What I want...
29) Bandai King Scale Mechagodzilla
23) Bandai Great Monster series Ghidora
8) Bandai Great Monster Series Bronze Godzilla

I like your suggestions, Jordon. Especially the Pearl G2K Godzilla. I'd add the Marmit Burning Godzilla, but the Bandai already represents that suit well as far as I'm concerned. Another M-1 on the list is needed. I'd go for the Classic Box myself.

Here's my list:

98) Imperial Inflatable Godzilla
97) M-1 Manda
96) Marmit Ebirah
95) Pictorial Book of Godzilla 1
93) Yamakatsu King Ghidora
91) Marmit Varan
89) M-1 Titanosaurus
87) Shogun Warrior Godzilla (Mattel)
86) Battra Larva (Bandai)
83) Takera Wind-up Mothra egg
81) Trendmasters 10" Space Godzilla
79) Bullmark Die-cast Godzilla
78) Mothra adult 1964 (Bandai)
76) Trendmasters 40th Anniversary set
74) Aggregate Stage Destroyah (Bandai)
72) Popy Rodan
70) Marmit Gigan
69) Fossil Godzilla watch
68) Bullmark Gabara
67) Bandai Baragon
56) Marusan Minya
54) Bullmark Hedora
53) Illustrated Encyclopedia of Godzilla
52) Popy Godzilla (Kingsaurus series-any size)
51) Bullmark Titanosaurus
50) Burning Godzilla (Bandai)
48) Bandai High Grade Godzilla 2
47) Popy Gigan
45) Godzilla 1991 (Bandai)
39) Bullmark Gorosaurus
37) Bandai Godzilla Memorial Box set
35) Bandai 1964 King Ghidora
34) Bandai Super Premium Godzilla
32) Takera DX Combat Joe Costume Godzilla
30) Godzilla 1984 artwork poster
29) Bandai king Scale Mechagodzilla
26) Bandai Godzilla Forever series
23) Bandai Great Monster series Ghidora
18) Bandai Theater Exclusive Meltdown Godzilla
17) Bullmark Giant Size Godzilla
16) Marusan Standard Size Godzilla
8) Bandai Great Monster Series Bronze Godzilla
7) Bullmark Mechagodzilla
5) Bullmark Megalon

The only thing on the list that I still really, really want is #44, the giant Bullmark Jet Jaguar.
