I just read this article on Sci-Fi Japan about how people in China are boycotting Ultraman and other Japanese shows in favor of domestic Chinese programming.

I believe August says Tsuburaya was Catholic, which would explain the crucifixion imagery that is so present in many Ultra shows. I think the planet is actually called Golgotha.
