I have to second what gojira_fan has said. I had the majority of the Futureland releases, but it's hard to justify the $500+ I've spent. The packaging is great, I got to fill in a few holes in my collection, but I don't notice any significant difference in the audio quality*, and a few extra tracks would never have been missed. I've only continued because I started, and they look nice side-by-side. The Biollante move was ugly, to be sure. I'd only recommend them to folks who don't have the Futureland discs, which are so hard and expensive to track down.

*I should point out that I'm not a good judge of audio quality in this case. I do most of my listening on MP3 players these days, so I've already compromised the audio quality of any of these discs by compressing them. I've never done a side-by-side on a high end audio system.

So uhhh...anyone got copies of the Sea Monster, Revenge, Hedora and Megalon soundtracks?

It's about time that some news on Box 6 was released!

I have all five sets and I'm glad I purchased them...especially when I did as they have increased to ~$123 on Arksquare.net. Expensive, yes, but they're really nice.

I do have some of the Futureland releases years ago. It's nice to have both versions as, for example, I have the English version of "Save the Earth" on that CD and not the Perfect Collection. There are some tracks that are missing on both sets and the other set compromises those holes and some of the tracks are combined with other tracks and/or re-ordered.

I'm a completist so these sets are worth it for me.

^ Yeah I saw that news just a moment ago and about hit the roof. I had begun to think Toho had canceled Box 6 but really didn't bother to let anyone know about it.

Still, it's quite disappointing that a little more than two years have gone by since the release of Box 5 and Box 6 is nowhere to be found. Toho got on the ball with the first three boxes but really dropped it starting with Box 4.

I've been anxious to complete my set so actually seeing some proof that a Box 6 will be released has me salivating.

Got an e-mail from Larry Tuczynski and he said that the latest he heard was that it will be released some time in March 2010 but there was no definite release date or order info.
