I rewatched the main event from last night and gotta say that I am more disappointed now than I originally was. People had pointed out a lack of emotion on HHH's part, and I definitely noticed it now that I could watch it without discussing the actual match with my friend during the match (thus being distracted from time to time). And that's the thing, a lot of the weird aspects of the story-telling that centered around HHH (he was the one attacked after all) just weren't there. Hell, HHH looked like he didn't have his heart in it. On paper, the match is really the standard affair from these 2 (that we saw a year ago for the entire spring no less), but given all of the build-up it's just a shame to see this one be the huge let down that it was. I still contest that Randy should be champ, and even more so now because of HHH basically not showing up and the moronic officiating ruining it. And I really am not going to lie, I am not that thrilled about them having a feud going a few more months again this year. We had the same thing last year and it honestly was nothing special. So add in the fact that they really gave this story-line the larger than life treatment, then it's understandable for anyone not to be excited for the future of this feud. Simply put, how are they going to top what they've already done? Sure, we're gonna have Legacy vs the McMahons at some point, and Orton will most likely get the belt, but the writers went into WM really strongly with everything brewing between Orton and HHH and in my opinion it should end at WM with Orton as champ, although I could see a rematch at Backlash just cause. In general, stupid decisions were made with this match last night.

With Batista's return, should we call HHH, the McMahons and Big Dave "Corporate Evolution"?

I heard about Ricky Steamboat wrestling on RAW through a site that had a list of some of the matches for the show, and that is what got me to watch ANY of RAW; I was planning on skipping it tonight - and I'm glad I didn't. I tuned in during the 10-man tag a little bit before Jericho attempted the Walls on Steamboat. The end of the match, with both Steamboat and Mysterio taking it to the air, was great. And I hope this isn't the last time we see Steamboat in the ring - as long as he doesn't become the go-to legend jobber like Sgt. Slaughter was before he was let go, that is.

Animal, Tatanka, and Piper have all gone out there and embarrassed themselves when they had their come backs. Besides being in rather poor physical condition, they truly shouldn't have been wrestling at all. Steamboat is in about as good as shape as he could be for a 56 year-old WWE road agent, and that's saying a lot I think. The fact that he still has it (as the crowd chanted tonight) is truly a testament not only to how great of a wrestler he is... but to the idea of making his own come back! Honestly, we don't need to see him win any titles or form some sort of tag team with anyone. I just want to see this guy wrestle Chris Jericho again, who is arguably the best all-around wrestler on the whole roster right now. He doesn't have to win, I don't care, I just want to see a straight-up wrestling match because now we know Ricky could handle it.

Steamboat = The Wrestler (just without the hair)

One more match!

[quote="Brick Side"][quote]JBL No More, Thank You.
April 6th, 2009

It doesn’t get any bigger than Wrestlemania 25. WM 25 was in my home state of Texas with my childhood idols being inducted into the hall of fame.

I had wanted to make it to WM 25 for years, and when injuries cut my career short the one regret I had was that I wouldn’t make the 25th anniversary of Wrestlemania-well, I made it. I never dreamed after I retired the first time that my back would get better and I would be allowed to return to wrestling.

Standing there last night in front of over 70,000 people in my home state ended a journey that was unreal to me. For a kid from Sweetwater, Texas to be able to travel all over the world and realize his dream is pretty cool.

I don’t know what the future holds, never say never in life. But I have wrestled my last match. Months ago, I picked out this match. If Eddie Guerrero couldn’t be here for it then my dear friend Rey was the obvious choice, and I’m proud he was.

I want to thank the WWE for a great career, for taking a chance on me and allowing me the keys to the car for a while. I will always represent the WWE wherever I go, I am proud of my 13 ½ years with the WWE. And, I am proud of the WWE for cleaning up a great sport to make it more healthy to everyone that is a part.

However, I have no current plans on doing anything in the future on a professional level with WWE. I don’t plan on doing commentary, in fact; it hasn’t even been brought up to me. I don’t plan on being an on air character. I plan on starting the next chapter in my life, and closing the door on this one.

I have worked with some of the greatest people in the world; I have life long friends that are the best in the world. Everytime WWE is brought up or JBL,

I will smile. I having nothing but great, great memories.

I have several projects that I am working on that will keep me more than busy.

I have worked with Charlie Haas to reform www.custom-muscle.com and together we plan on being the best nutrition web site in the world. Check us out, you can buy Layfield Products there, but you can also buy all the cutting edge supplements in the nutrition world there-and the plain old everyday supplements as well.

We plan on offering a full service web site, from information to updates on the world of fitness and health and of course the best prices for supplements of all kinds.

I plan on hunkering down and building my companies. I plan on building a world class distribution service in Nashville and a top notch global beverage company. I have a deal in the banking world that I hope to get done that will allow the disabled the first fully access bank online.

I have had a life that I could have only dreamed of so far, but it is my time to say thank you and go away. I have nothing but great and fond memories and I want to leave before any of that changes, I swore I would never stay too long-I have too much respect for this business to do that.

You may see me in the WWE again, I don’t know-but that is not the plan. Right now, I have gotten up early today and am ready to go to work on the next part of my life that will hopefully exceed the first part.

I have been on the road for my entire adult life. I want to put the suitcases up and do my best to be successful outside of wrestling, today starts that journey.

Thanks to all you guys out there for cheering me, booing me and making signs about me. It is a little overwhelming to think of the great fans the WWE has today. I have been a bad guy for so long, and when I started you were a bad guy 24/7, I carried that mindset probably too long-well no more, today I am just a normal guy going to work.

It seems like yesterday I was sitting with my Grandfather watching wrestling, and telling him that one day I was going to be one of those guys. My grandfather never got to see me wrestle, but I am sure he is happy today. I hope Bobby Duncum Jr. and Eddie Guerrero were watching with him.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing me to be a part of the great theater we call “sports entertainmentâ€

I liked JBL as a color commentator, but otherwise I'm with you, Mysterio.

Stan Hansen should be inducted into the HoF next time they hold Wrestlemania in Texas.

...I just wished JBL gave a farewell speech instead of that "I Quit" crap....youknow, break character, let out those emotions he obviously had and let the crowd wave good-bye....It WAS in Texas, afterall. What better place to have done it?

He could've just clotheslined Mysterio, "knocked" him out, go outside, grab the belt, make like he's gonna hit Rey with it, then just drape it over the ring and walk out to be counted out. Rey becomes champ, and JBL explains himself out of character.

That would've been a better send-off.

Now with the Draft coming, JBL's place'll easily get filled by some unexpected someone...I also expect Punk to go after Cena, though something tells me patience would help WWE immensely...think about it - Punk waits for the right time to catch Orton(as champ; it's inevitable) off guard, after a title defense, without Priceless, and cashes in the Money in the Bank. Instant gratification, revenge, and feud opportunity!

I wonder if the WWE boys'll ever think like that... :?

Draft results:

Raw gets:
-MVP (brings US title)
-Big Show
-HHH (brings WWE title)
-Matt Hardy
-The Miz (Miz/Morrison broken up... ugh)
-Maryse (brings Diva's title)

Smackdown gets:
-Mileena (brings Women's title)
-CM Punk
-Kane
-Jericho
-Rey (brings IC title)

ECW gets:
-Kozlov

Crappy draft. HHH to Raw is bad. Very bad. My worst fear has come true: You have HHH, Batista, and Cena on one show. That is beyond overkill.

Switching Jericho was dumb. He really came into his own on Raw, and belongs there. Sad to see that they aren't going to further this potential match with Steamboat, but oh well. I also feel terrible for Matt Hardy. He basically wins the feud with Jeff and now is sent to Raw? He won't get title shots there.

I was really hoping Cena would switch. One title has to go... are they really going to use Punk to do it again, will Edge get the belt back again, or will they really take the plunge and move Cena to Smackdown? I pray that they do move him. They absolutely can't let Orton go to Smackdown, I know that. He's the star of Raw. Cena is just sorta there at this point... if his feud with Edge is serious then he should go over to Smackdown since that's where Edge is.
