"MEGA SHARK vs. GIANT OCTOPUS" !!

Postby AVERY GUERRA » Thu Mar 05, 2009 11:41 pm

The 'Asylum Ent.' usually are notoriously known for their low budget 'mock-busters' but have been stepping up their production values and actually even taking on some original film ideas. Such is the case with this; their upcoming kaiju vs. kaiju epic: "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus" and the poster has now arrived:

Also; here's the official webpage with more details and a few early pics unfortunately none of the big beasties...yet.:

ASYLUM? Oh, HELL no. I learned my lesson after Monster. There is no way I am going to subject myself to any more of Asylum's Z-grade, bottom-of-the-barrel...

*sees the poster*

...

Oh, dammit. I already know I'm gonna rent this. I just know it. -_-

Curse you, Asylum!

I've been in constant contact with Asylum Ent. on this film and secretly taking comments from message boards; some bad, some good so that they can see what fans are really thinking/saying and do and don't like about their output of films. Don't worry no names were mentioned so you guys don't have to fear their assassins. I've also been offering up many suggestions to them on what the fans really want to see and what they don't. They're taking this stuff to heart, 'cause believe it or not they actually do care. Here's an exclusive first image look into this film and revealing that they do seem to be listening as I told them that we really want to see the titans go at it in this one[take note: this is a very rough/early effects image and may not reflect the final look of the giant beasties]:

I can see a sequel shaping up already -- toss in the newly found Predator X and some other giant aquatic creature [maybe a super-sized giant squid].

I have been in regular contact with Paul Bales of "The Asylum Ent." on this one and offered many suggestions and also copied and sent them a lot of comments good and bad from message boards so that they could see what was being said and what the fans thought and liked/dis-liked and wanted to see in future films from them. It's obvious from the trailer that they've been listening as this definitely looks like their funnest film yet and it looks to be chock full of great cheesy b-movie moments. That just goes to show that they do care. The first reviews are in and they're rather good[*Minor Spoiler Alert*]!!:

Everyone's eating this one right up as "Undead Backbrain"s version of the trailer on "YouTube" has landed over 400,000 views[at the time of this posting] and climbing in just 3 days!!:

http://www.youtube.com/user/undeadbackbrain

The trailer was first debuted on "MTV" which was a very odd place for an "Asylum" picture?! Could it be premiering there instead of the "SyFy" channel??

It has been added to the official webpage as well in glorious "Quicktime":

Then for anyone debating who will win in the epic battle might want to consider this:

Be warned people.

I just watched it last night and wow, was it awful.

Those of you who are expecting Asylum to actually make a watchable movie will be very disappointed in the end, this movie is like all their other terrible films with the terrible acting, worse camera work, and their habit of taking a 3 second CG segment and split it into a half second intervals with human drama to fill in the gaps....this movie had me pulling the hair out of my head.

Oh, and btw, the cg scenes you see in the trailer are all the shots in the movie pretty much....and they reuse those same cg shots over and over and over again.
