Another hilarious review for a hilariously bad movie. I kinda like this movie because of how ridiculous it is... yet still kind of makes sense.

As I've said in the appreciation thread in the other section, I love this movie. I don't care if there's tons of stock footage and tons of stock music, it is entertaining as hell to watch. Although he does have a point: It takes awhile to build up to the fight, but the fight is one of the longer ones in the series.

Well he got one thing right with that review. Godzilla vs Gigan is a lot of fun when your less than sober.

He didn't say he liked the movie.

Plus, some movies are so bad, they're good, while others are just plain bad. Megalon's more about discussing the weirdness of the 70's Godzilla movies. The kick was awesome! I watched it again and again as a kid, and laughed my ass off.

Since Godzilla Vs. Megalon is my favorite Godzilla movie, I thought the review was surprisingly good, and funny! Angry Video Game Nerd also got many of his facts straight! Compared to the many Godzilla fans who utterly demonize this film (partly because it's not the original evil Godzilla from 1954), not realizing that this was made at a time when Japan produced movies & TV shows that were fueled with total barking-dog madness!

Like I said, those same fans should see 6 Ultra Brothers Vs. the Monster Army (the worst Ultraman movie ever, IMHO), which makes Godzilla Vs. Megalon look like an Oscar winner!

Looking forward to the rest of AVGN's reviews!

Godzilla vs. Gigan and Godzilla vs. Megalon are both great fun to watch. They both have nostalgic value for me, but I'm more partial to Gigan because it was one of the first G flicks I ever saw. I still remember my first viewing of it to this day, and what a mesmerizing experience that was!

Considering he's seen the super-cut fullscreen version (CM's version is already out!), and assuming there was nothing trivia-worthy (like how Titanosaurus was supposed to be a 2-in-1 creature, and the final battle was to take place entirely in Tokyo, rather than the cost-effective countryside), this is the weakest of the reviews. There's a LOT more he could've gone into in this review (though it's not impossible for him to redo it). For instance, the wicked bloody violence, the aliens' true forms (they're deformed humans, as opposed to the apes from the first Mechagodzilla film), the confusingly excised suicide scene/finale, and the one thing Godzilla fans cannot get over: This is the first Godzilla film with BOOBIES!!! (Fake boobies, but boobies nonetheless.)
