You're obviously new to his work, but I assure you, he's done WAAAAY better work than this film. You're missing out on his other works, like Earth Defense Girl Iko-chan, and my favorite of his works, Den-Ace, which I'm currently doing an article on for Sci-Fi Japan. Then, you have his other films like The Calamari Wrestler and Everything But Japan Sinks, for example. The guy's a veteran, and yes, he fared much better with his own original work.[/quote]

Den Ace is something that I enjoy, trust me. I still say that having a chance to work with an older Monster he blew it. So there goes another one.... The Japanese basically overkilled Mothra in the 90's, let Godzilla die a painful death, MURDERED Gamera, and now wasted Guilala.

I'm starting to get the feeling that nobody over there has the talent to do these films right anymore or they simply don't care. Not enough people into it I guess. Kaiju films are on the outs my friends ......

Better start REALLY appreciating the old stuff.
