The Middleman

Anyone watching this series on ABC Family? It's like a TV version of Men in Black on a shoestring budget but much more clever in a postmodern hipster nerd kinda way. It's about this (extremely cute) girl named Wendy Watson who lives in an illeagal loft with her liberal arts graduate firends (frequently unemployed, working on conecpt albums, ect.) and becomes employed as a sidekick to a straight-laced, square-jawed, fella called The Middleman who protects the Earth from alien invasion, mad scienstists, monsters and whathaveyou. The Middle Organization has been protecting the Earth for ages and it's so secretive even The Middleman has no idea who's the one giving him his orders and weapons and gadgets and things.

BTW, if the dialog in Juno made you nauseous than this show will make you vomit. Last episode had Wendy asking The Middleman if he was being serious, to which he replied; "serious as a German film festival." Each episode is filled with references to whatever genre said episode is a part of. Last night's was Sci Fi and I caught two Hitchhiker's Guide and two Doctor Who references (I didn't know Lethbridge-Stewart was such a common name).

This show started out so-so, but as it's gone on it has really found its footing and I think it's great. Check it out.

This series was based on a comic-book, BTW!

I caught this show the other day.

Not brilliant by any means, but I thought it was at least mildly amusing.
