I've no problem with any amount of humor if done well and am not bothered either way about the ambiguous sexual references. But the guy can furiously get his characters into a mountain of incredible circumstances that are quite exciting to see, but can't write a satisfying ending to save his life.

The reason I never write any type of adventure stories is because I'm exactly like RTD in that way. I can come up with all sorts of crazy scenarios, but suck at wrapping up.

I don't have this magic wand named Deus Ex Machina that I wave around at the end of an incredible situation and don't want one. It's embarrassing.

Davros' speech about the Doctor making those that surround him into living weapons was good, and Donna's father was great in every scene he's in. The whole scenario with the severed hand and "three" Doctors was terrible. The half human Doctor foisted off on Rose... terrible. Dalek Caan pulls the "Bad Wolf" maneuver, which was neat when Rose did it, but lame when retreaded. Just like all of RTD's "aliens taking over the world in the guise of a corporation shtick" good once, lame the 2nd time, ridiculous the next 5 or 6 times.

Think I'll go watch BLINK again to wash the bad taste away.

And I thought when I called it "poo" I was going to be crucified for being too harsh!

Still, RTD and BBC finally got what they wanted: it appears that "Journey's End" will be the highest rated program of the week. Ratings and audience appreciation were massive.

I remember when I was quite young, I used to wish that everyone else could appreciate how good Doctor Who was. I should have been careful what I wished for.

Huh, I liked it. Sure it was absolutely bonkers, but it was that way through-and-through. Last year's finale clearly had that point near the end where everything sorta went wrong, but this one had... tonal consistancy. You know, Five Doctors and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla style.

Daleks buzzing around (loved the German Daleks BTW), Davros ranting like the madman he is, everyone gets a thing to do (even K-9), Rose's storyline gets wrapped up and tucked away for good, Davros faces certain death (seems to happen to him a lot) and curses the Doctor as he leaves, and Donna gets a nice bittersweet ending and end of story.

Yeah, in the end I'd say it was the best season of the new Doctor Who. The episode quality was fairly good (a few clunkers sure) and Donna and Wilf were the awesomest new charcters the show has introduced. Where's their spinoff?

The DVD release of DOCTOR WHO: THE COMPLETE FOURTH SERIES has been set for November 18th. Price will, of course, be $99.99, includes all thirteen-episodes and the Christmas Special with audio commentaries. DOCTOR WHO CONFIDENTIAL will be included on Disc 6. Rumor is that the eight-minute 2007 CHILDREN IN NEED special TIME CRASH will be added, but it has not yet been confirmed.

Cover art has been released (and I myself am not a fan of it, the Series 3 cover and package design is by far the best), and you can view it at TvShowsOnDvd.com:

I'm thinking no one is really going to make a thread's worth of comments on it, as there hasn't so far for Torchwood or Sarah Jane Adventures, but did want to point out that Sarah Jane Adventures season two started last month.

I didn't even know it had started until I stumbled on the first episode which is a carry over from DW season 4's Sontaran story.

Search youtube or whatever favorite video places for "the last sontaran" and it should pop up. The next story (eps 3 & 4) is "the Day of the Clown".
