Here are the two presentations that I am hosting at this year's G-Fest (I will also be participating in several other panels and presentations over the weekend):

FRIDAY

THE GENESIS OF ULTRAMAN (2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Ballroom 3)
August Ragone, author of "Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters", hosts an incredible slide presentation featuring dozens of rare behind-the-scenes photographs from the original 1966 series, with commentary on the creation of one of the most incredibly successful superhero franchises in history. Find out why Ultraman is an important part of the kaiju genre and why he is so popular -- and relevant -- today.

SATURDAY

EIJI TSUBURAYA: MASTER OF MONSTERS (1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Midway)
Drawing on his recently-published book, Japanese cinema historian and author August Ragone examines the monstrous career of Eiji Tsuburaya, the father of Japanese Visual Effects, in a special slide show featuring over 100 rare behind-the scenes stills from Toho's Golden Age of the Kaiju Eiga (1954-1969). Plus, see a special 15-minute documentary on Eiji Tsuburaya.

Not to spam up the thread or anything, but again, I have a room for all four nights and I'm looking for anyone interesting in sharing it, for a fee of $200 (about half the cost of the room). If anyone is interested please let me know as soon as possible. There are two beds, so don't go thinking that.
