Yuji Sakai Concept Works 1995 Godzilla...translucent or not?

Postby jetJagger » Wed Jun 11, 2008 2:45 pm

Anyone know what the deal is with the 1995 Gojira from the new Yuji Sakai Concept Works series?

Every photo I've seen of it in an auction or anywhere else shows it as a paint-up. But every time I see a reference to it in something like Hobby Japan it is translucent, like the chase from the Complete Works series.

So what's the deal? Was it supposed to be translucent then changed because of cost? Is there a chase version of it that is translucent? Or is there another version of it coming down the line?

Thanks.

From what I heard, the translucent one is the chase version. I got the regular version and I am not impressed and I don't see how the clear version will be any different.... But then again, I could be wrong. Does anyone have the clear version that they can share a comparison photo w/ us? Thanks.

Finally got the chase I picked up from Japan. Compared to the painted version, this is a HUGE improvement. I'm not positive on the ratio, but someone mentioned that they thought it was one in every three cases.

Sorry for the bad photos; these guys are tricky to light.

This is compared to the Complete Works burning-G chase. Nice to see that they are different sculpts.

These toys don't seem massive enough compared to the actual Burning Godzilla suit. The lower body should definitely be thicker on both of those toys.

Love the colors on that chase figure, though.
