From director Matt Reeves comes CLOVERFIELD, heading to DVD on 22 April 2008.

Aside of the date, SUNCOAST stores will have their own "Steelbook" packaging for the movie (as they did with BEOWULF & will do with SWEENEY TODD). More updates when they become available.

Bad news for you HD people though, since HD-DVD has gone under, the dvd crew for Cloverfield are scrambling to get the wealth of extras they had on HD-DVD onto Blu-Ray and have said that it's not looking as though they will have it all done by April. So this means either the HD release will be delayed or the disc will get released with less extras then expected.

Blu-Ray can't do everything that HD-DVD did, not yet at least. I'd bet a lot of the extras that were planned utilized HD-DVD's capabilities and therefore wouldn't work on Blu-Ray.

I'd guess that we'll get a sparse Blu-Ray on 4/22 and a better one around the time Cloverfield 2 gets its theatrical release.

Yeah, they better delay the discs......this was a release that should have tons of great extras, talking about the viral and all that...making the story make sense.

That said, I'll still get the DVD....hopefully there's extras on that.

As long as all of the special features are on the DVD, I'll be good to go. Can't wait to pick this up. Loved the flick.

Actually, I'll probably just wait until DDD's summer 20% off sale and nab this along with other creature DVDs that I've yet to get (The Host, Frankenstein vs. Baragon, Latitude Zero, Legend of the Dinosaurs, etc.).
