Kotaku had a synopsis about the movie up, but it's down now.....

From what I read, it seems Claire's visiting relatives when a viral outbreak occurs, and spreads into the city, causing another RE2. Joining her will be a cast of familiar faces from the RE universe and some surprises from the movie universe.

They end with the idea that this is the ultimate Resident Evil movie, one that fans and non-fans alike will love.

I hope they're right.

Another thing I found a bit interestng: They mentioned that this could be "...Claire's last step in the world of survival horror" and that this time"...there will be....No Escape". Both of these phrases have been used in the BIOHAZARD ad campaigns and "No Escape" was RE3's subtitle.

I hope this movie's as good as they say.....

It's a movie. Right now, the rumored running time is 85-98 mins. and is set to be rated R/Unrated.

Just FYI, Alice is rumored to be in this movie, thus bridging both RE universes in one movie. Also, there's no Wesker. We get Leon and Claire's reunion, and probably the long-awaited S.T.A.R.S. reunion, and Alice's entrance into the RE universe, but as far as concrete details.....not much.

You mean the "HIVE", Wesker's mission, or Chris and Jill's russian adventure? Sure, they used the Red Queen(did ya think CAPCOM would miss THAT opportunity?), but that was about it.....

No mention of Alice, Carlos, the survivors, or the "incidents" from the movie.

This one, according to sources, lays those extras out firmly and finally places them within the RE universe.

We should know for sure in October, the film's estimated release date.

I knew I was off by a bit...

But that's the idea. Japan gets it in october and we should get it sometime later. Besides, form what I hear, the voicecast will be entirely in english, with japanese subtitles, which should facilitate an overseas release, unless they pull an Executor and have them all speak japanese, unlike the games.

Speaking of which, word has it that the english cast is being debated on right now, whether to bring back past voice actors to reprise their roles in the movie, or to use new talent to do it.

Also, It's being said in some forums that the rumor suggesting Alice will be in this movie is false, and that this movie won't close out the series as expected, but as some of you were well aware, serve as the basis for Resident Evil 5.

Apparently they're basing it on an interview Milla Jovovich gave around the time of the Extinction movie, where she hinted she'd like to return with a sequel, but it might not be likely due to the studio shifting around, and her work schedule. At present, it's expected that this film will bond together the "future" story arc( presumed to be the movie storyline) with the "past" story arc(the storyline from the games).

There's also word circulating around about a surprise star everyone has wante d to see in action for a while but hasn't - HUNK is said to be one of the film's main characters.

------Let's hope this film gets on the right track.

Yeah, I watched it on Friday, that was awesome. It also confirms that the new woman is not Claire, which sucks as she is my favorite RE character.

Las Plagas was only obvious seeing as how Wesker is the mastermind behind this game (and from what I hear, he is a clone of Chris).
