The long, long release date is probably because Bad Robot wouldn't want to risk their own G98 fiasco by having a company work on a figure of the Cloverfield monster months before the movie. Hasbro's prototypes get leaked from China and Hong Kong on a regular basis, so if they wanted the monster's design to remain secret, waiting would be a smart plan.

I'm also thinking this isn't going to be the only way we'll get a Cloverfield toy either, but we'll see.

I really like Atlier kits, especially what they did with Gigan '72, pure gold! If anyone was interested or who didn't know, I just looked at ClubTokyo and they said X-PLUS' Sanda and Gaira are coming in April Pre-Built and Pre-Painted, could save time, and perhaps money
