Word down the grapevine suggests that this slow trickle of Cloverfield news is because of two things:

1 - the marketing team wants to find some way to get rid of earlier "leaks" by re-filming new stuff for the movie, AND they don't know exactly how.

2 - There'll be a MASSIVE explosion of 1-18-08 media tie-ins....some of which...you won't see coming, like an "interruption" trailer similar to Orson Wells' "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast on Halloween and several viral ads that'll pop up every now and then.

take that with a grain of salt.
