You didn't actually ask anything.

Besides that snafu, what does it really matter? I doubt any of us are going to suddenly stop buying toys altogether and immediately just because Mattel's factories screwed up big-time. Unless there's some reason to be concerned/pissed at our purveyors of vinyl or diecast goodness (or transforming robots, in my case), not much to be said about it.

I haven't looked into this whole thing (only read a short article on a break at work), but it had something to do with using .008% too much lead in the paint?
How does that even affect anything?
Or did I just misinterpret the article?

Weren't they all baby/toddler toys, too? ...And from only two companies, Bandai not one of them?

Please, anybody who thinks that we're being poisoned by our beloved Godzilla vinyl's needs to take a deep breath. Just put that paint-coated Destroyah up to your nose and breeeeath.....

It was all Mattel, but two different Chinese companies involved, I believe. The CEO of the company responsible for the lead paint issue hung himself in disgrace, but I didn't hear anything linking him to the other problem - small, powerful toy magnets that can attract each other, even through intestinal walls and cause a blockage.

The lead paint included toddler stuff but also some Cars character (I still don't understand how that toyline keeps going, lol). The magnets affected Barbie and The Batman stuff, among other things.
