Hey, hey, hey, just cool it now. I don't know if you're being over the top just to be funny or if you really feel that strongly about an insult that was never made, but you're starting to derail this discussion about *this* movie.

Anyone who has read or listened to the transcript knows that no insult was intended or given. Further, neither Abrams nor Paramount have said anything like "Yeah, we're making a movie and future franchise to dethrone Godzilla, because he's cheezy". If you want to take it as some sort of personal affront, fine, whatever works for you. But there are people here who are genuinely excited about this film, and there's no need to rain on the parade. If you're offended or not interested, you can always skip this thread and the movie when it comes out. But right now, pdg3, you're coming off as someone looking to start a dispute where none exists. So again, please, just relax. Save that anger for the trolls who come into MZ and start spouting off about "Godzilla? Just for kids." and "Godzilla? Bad rubber suits."

For the most part, we're all on the same side, and as far as I can see, Abrams and his crew are on our side as well. They see value in the genre and want to breath some new life into it. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, a much better attitude than Emmerich and Devlin, don't you think?

IMO, one thing I'd like this movie to avoid....and probably will is any information as to what the military plans to do. If they film this from the eye-witness angle, they would not know the military plans would be, just get the "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" out of here and let us do our job....though maybe a shot from their perspective from behind a military barricade as the creature passes by a few blocks down and they open fire....

Almost every kaiju movie has the "Behind the military scenes" and it get's old.

C'mon gang we don't really need to dig up the D/E movie all over again do we? So someone's got a peeve about cute and charming and so what do we do? Rehash the same old GINO arguments again. It is what it is and nothings going to change that. Wanna know what I think would be cute and charming and kick ass?
