I highly recommend to those who haven't picked it up yet to go and buy Legend Films DVD of THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. The 35mm materials they used are beautiful... simply the greatest the film has ever looked on home video (the b&w transfer, that is).
So yeah, having quality transfers of the proper b&w versions is an excellent selling point for these movies which don't have quality official releases. Though NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD already has an official release from Elite Entertainment (Which looks fabulous), and I imagine Image/Wade William's DVD of THE GIANT GILA MONSTER looks really good too. And CARNIVAL OF SOULS has been put out by Criterion I think.
