True - but most of the action wasn't seen through the survivor's eyes, but the cameraman's.

A good example of this movie would be the intro scene to Gamera 3 - Gamera and Gyaos are fighting throughout the city and we see what the fleeing people see, even a close-up view of their destruction.

The Director of PC HAS to have this in mind when filming the movie. Kaneko gets it, which is why I see where pdg30's coming from when he says those movies are better. They are, they're actually the top movies in the kaiju genre, just not in this context PC's being filmed under.

This one will feel different. I'm giving it a chance and not putting my hopes up too much, to save me from being let down. I want to see what's causing so much darn carnage, that's all. Lets see if the US finally has director who gets/understands kaiju movies.

I can see the fuuutuuuure of moooovies that are not yet fiiiiinished.....

I think close study of this picture in photoshop will help us discern whether this movie will be a bucket of awsome or a pile of suckitude.

If anyone thinks Toho would let a teaser trailer for a Godzilla movie slip WITHOUT the words TOHO CO LTD in there at least once is thinking foolishly... there is no way this is a Godzilla project.

I don't see why people can't just accept this as an all new and original creation. Its not Voltron, its not Dragonball, its not Godzilla, I REALLY REALLY doubt its The Host (that monster is waaay too small to knock Lady Liberty's head off). I don't see why it can't just be a new creature movie and not a remake. Fans of EVERYTHING are going crazy saying Cloverfield will be [insert title here]... its not. Why can't this just be a new production with an original approach to the genre?
