Just ordered this new one online. This is looking cool. I noticed on an ebay auction that the ornament changes to different monsters and have different roars! So when you turn it on, it changes from Mothra, to Hedorah, then to Gigan & Megalon, and then to Mecha-G'75 & Titanosaurus!

So when was this new ornament announced? Wasn't expecting a new one this year but glad we got one. So anyone have any luck with that Showa Ornament from last year? Just curious what it does and what it really looks like.

Godzilla Fan 54, you mean at a Carlton's Store? Do they still have it over at yours? If so, can you help me pick one up?

I'm sorry to say that all the 'smaller' American Greetings ornaments including the Godzilla one sold out in the post-Christmas clearance sales. I think most everything sold by the end of the first week or so in January.

The smaller Godzilla ornament seems to be primarily plastic - I wouldn't be surprised to see American Greetings have more made for this year. So it'll probably be worth keeping your eyes open when you're out and about later this year.

I'd be surprised if K-Mart was the only large retailer American Greetings offered these ornaments too. It's worth noting that there were several different small ornaments besides the Godzilla one [almost like they were offered in a pre-assorted sales display], and I don't recall AG having listed in the ornment catalog or website - I know for certain I never saw it at the American Greetings store.

On the plus side, American Greetings doesn't seem to limit overall ornament sales to their own stores, so that leaves us with options.

Most Targets I've been to seem to carry American Greetings cards regularly - so they're probably a good bet for AG ornaments when they're in season. I'm not sure about Wal-Mart as I've never really thought to look for ornaments there. I know Sears gets in ornaments over the Christmas season too, but I don't know who makes them. The other mall retail chains [JC Penny's, Macy's, Kohls, etc] may also get some ornaments in - but whether these ornamets are generic or coming from American Greetings I couldn't say for certain..
