I also recorded the roar and played with it for a minute. It sounds like a normal animal grunt synthed up. However the last roar of the trailer really would make for a nice revamped G'84 roar. And the first roar is messed up. It sounds like a person grunting and you can hear... bubbles? They used some messed up audio for this trailer.

I just found this : http://www.theparasitemovie.com/ not much going on here just yet but it does seem to be counting down to august 1st. Also, the two links show 1-18-08.com and takes you to a couple of photos and the other link takes you to ethanhaaswasright.com so it would seem that somehow everything we've been seeing connected to this movie unless this is a fake page.

ok, i was a bit late on the trailer link, but, AICN just updated and apparently JJ himself says those Ethan sites aren't his and have nothing to do with the movie. But they do have some out there that haven't been found/revealed yet.

Also...i swear if you watch the last half of it frame by frame when everyone is on the street..right before the Lady Liberty's head is tossed..in the smoke..i could swear you can see a figure moving in their. It could be just the smoke but it looks to be a large head close the the ground then veers up real quick when the head is tossed...or maybe it is just me.

JJ's playing Mind-f@cks with the populace already!!! We've been forced to play those fake games because of "Ethan Haas"!!!! Who the heck is he anyway, and what have we done with those flash games?

SO...JJ Abrams finally let it slip. Thanks. I wonder how far he's gonna push this envelope - we've already seen how the media reacted to it(CNBC, FOX News, and CNN reported on it), so one has to wonder - how much more "viral" can JJ and crew get? Will we see more invasing advertising,like TV commersials, magazine articles, and show interruptions, or will it all leak out slowly from now until January?

By the way, if I EVER find some moron telling me that the 1-18-08 site pictures have hidden images, I swear, I'll b!tc#-slap them with my shoe. At first it was okay, now, it's gotten INCREASINGLY ANNOYING. Really people - viral marketing does one thing - reveals a person's ideals and inner workings. You see what you want to see, what you desire to see. So Godzilla, Gamera, Cthulthu, Ultraman, A Mecha, King Seesar, Mufasa, Barney, Dora the Destroyer, or Spoungebob Poopypants might just show up in that trailer because you want it to show up.


So in essence , between the girls - I see the black ranger giving me the finger because I'm that darn stupid to think he's even there. They're both bald-headed girls by the way, which is why he's there and not their actual hair, and also why he's insulting me......thus making the guys behindthe site absolute geniuses at my dumbass expense. Whoo-hoo. :rolleyes:

In other words.....get a f@#kin' LIFE!......all of a sudden, Val Kilmer in "Top Secret" comes to mind.... how silly can ya get? Oh yeah!..."

Man, I knew the Ethanhaaswasright.com sites had nothing to do with the movie. Now that Abrams has said it himself, we can now drop the idea of the Cthulu.

I expected that the "Ethan Haas" sites were unrelated to Cloverfield, but don't forget that the Ethan Haas thing in itself is still an interesting, seemingly-Lovecraftian project on its own. Cloverfield is coming next January 18th, but we'll have the Ethan Haas thing to keep us occupied on August 1st.

Maybe it's deserving of a thread all its own?

The Slusho.jp site seems to be a legit part of the Cloverfield viral marketing campaign. I just spent the last half an hour watching and re-watching the Cloverfield trailer when I realized that the guy (Mike Vogul) who appears 52 seconds into the trailer is wearing a Slusho brand t-shirt. Click on the photo above to enlarge or check out the cropped photo to the right. The same guy can be seen on the official 1-18-08.com website pouring a beer into Rob’s mouth. But in that photo his t-shirt is blurred so that you can’t read what it says. The logo too closely matches the logo on the Slusho.jp website, seen below.

As we’ve previously told you, one of Cloverfield’s on location production titles was Slusho. Hardcore fans of Abrams’ Alias may remember as the Slurpee-type beverage that Vaughn offers to Sydney in the second episode of the series. The website seems to be for the Slurpee-type beverage.

The Slusho.jp website was registered a week before the worldwide release of the Cloverfield movie trailer. So unless the website was registered by someone who was on the cast or in the production, this site is 100% part of the viral campaign.
