IGN has an interview with Ray as well as some screen shots of the DVD. I'll admit the colorization looks better than others I've seen, but its still too obvious. I love Ray, but I just can't get behind this. Although I'd love to see some of the special features, I think my old Columbia DVD will satisfy me enough for the time being.

The problem is that there isn't enough color. Too much of the same hues; in this case, brown or yellow. It's close to looking tinted.

Having just seen the colorized version, I can tell you that Ray Harryhausen is correct, that the process looks a lot better than what was being done in the 80s or 90s.

Having said that, however, the color itself almost looks like a Technicolor “soft lookâ€
