I'm guessing Red'll get "domesticated" as episodes pass. Also, that fly that comes out of Mele's mouth....his commentary's unnecessary for the fights AND annoying!

The action's pretty good though, and that's what counts here!!!

I think that's what's next - seems they're already color-coded too....hmmm..

What about DekaRed and MagiRed? They were similarly hyperactive and eccentric.

Oh yeah, except for some reason, Jan isn't as freaking obnoxious as those other two. Ew.

But yeah, GekiRed is awesome, though my favorite character is probably GekiYellow or Mele... obey the cuteness... XD

DekaRed and MagiRed were realisticly eccentric.....GekiRed is just downright wacky. I'm sure once he kicks it into Bruce Lee mode completely he might change, but for now, I guess it stays.

I still crack up at his first meeting with Master Shafu....can't get that "Nekooo, nekoo!" out of my head yet....:P

You know, that's an interesting point - I got the gist of it because everytime Master Shafu rings it, the camera pans behind it to show the rangers.....I'm guessing this year's a three-man team with more extra rangers later on and next year they'll be back to standard five-person formation.

Though I don't know if you noticed, but in Ep. 2, there was a black and white Gekisuit behind the boss lady....Could be a sign of things to come?

The Director's is a Leopard, episode 3's villain's was a bull, and the 5 Deadly Venoms are (I think) a snake, a toad, a centipede, a scorpion, and a gecko.

Oh, and if you want to see something really geeky, ... XD

I wouldn't call that geeky....Although, if you start focusing on the small details like her facial measurements and whether or not she looks 200% like her real counterpart....then it's geeky. Right now it's infatuation. :P :D

BTW, nice artwork.

I gotta make the resemblance a little closer still, but I doubt I'll go that far! XD

EDIT: Thanks! I don't do fanart very often (I've been drawing Godzilla for so long now that he doesn't count anymore... also, I have TOHO-approved Godzilla art in a published book! XD).

I like the show a lot so far, but man, I hate Gekired with a burning passion. He reminds me why I hate most of the reds from the past five/six or so shows.

Really? I really love the guy, personally. He's hyper and has caffeine for blood but I don't find him nearly as obnoxious as DekaRed and MagiRed (:puke:). Never saw much of Boukenger but from what I did see, BoukenRed didn't impress me much (though I did appreciate how that whole team was pretty level-headed).

Yep!!!

Again, I think we're getting over the whole "power rangers" stigma that all like it are the same - the japanese rangers are uncut and uncensored, meaning they do most stuff that would seem inappropriate to kids over here, like throw someone through a wall or attack something a certain way.

After watching "Operation Overdrive" I gotta say, Gekiranger is a big sigh of relief - Not only does the show have a nice feel to it, but the visuals aren't too bad and the action is pretty good by today's standards.

PR:OO has a sucky song, a sucky, type-cast cast, and above all, pretty sucky execution. the only thing I've seen them get right is some acting here and there. that's it. Most scenes jump right out of Gou Gou Sentai Boukenger anyway, so the Eu-mericans don't have to do much.
