Well, didn't the "old" market hit gold after the "last" movie in 1995? I was always under the impression that the 'vintage' Bandai market didn't skyrocket in value until after they were done making the 8" scale figures.

In any regard, if it does pick up like it did in the 90's, and considering the amount of doubles I often buy - I'll be sitting on gold. Kidding of course.

Actually I'm planning on trying to sell most of my older Bandai doubles early this summer to try to pick up some funds for my G-Fest expenses, because it looks like I'll be going alone this year. The majority of my older Bandai doubles only came about as upgrading to better condition figures anyway. I can only think of three pre-'95 Bandai's I want to have more than one of.

Always fun to hear about other young guys' collection beginnings, Rice. I would really recommend a part-time job to any serious, younger collector, which you certainly seem to be. The difference between what kind of toys you can buy with home allowances compared to regular (albeit small) paychecks is really quite big.

I visited the model room at G-Fest for quite some time and I can't even remember what you guys are talking about. Any of you by chance have a picture of it you can post? It sounds awesome and I love looking at Kaiju model kits.

On that note, awesome build-up Jean. Did you paint it yourself? It looks great. I always found it easy enough to glue things together, but painting was another issue.

Hrm, I actually forgot about my older posts. Hah, kind of ironic now that I think of it. I was so paranoid about condition, etc, and Katrina destroyed them all, anyway. I guess there's really no point in obsessing about that after all, just try to keep them in the best shape ya can and hope for the best.

Ah well, we live way further up, so the water shouldn't be able to reach us this time, thankfully.

Now, I just wish Big Bad Toy Store would hurry up and get Hedora, Jet Jaguar, and some of the others back in stock! :|

This picture's from the Wonder Festival (summer 2006), not G-Fest for anyone wondering. I think there was also a clearer pic, but I haven't been able to dig around enough for one.

Let's see, a comment? OK, you'll love them. If you're a Toho Kong fan and always wanted accurate looking versions of the 60's Kong, you're going to get what you want. My only complaint was the grey vinyl and black highlights on the figures and there's no Gorosaurus or Mechanikong out there that's in scale with the 67' Kong. Other than that, you should be real happy with them.
