Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II isn't that bad afterall!

Discuss the 2nd Godzilla film era here! Beam fights, revised versions of classic kaiju, the Heisei era was a mixed bag of fun and controversy!

I don't know the full answer, but there's a spiritual subext to the whole film that I think is uniquely Japanese. The nest where both Rodan and Baby hatched from was sort of "sealed," and the song was it's "stamp," sort of. Rodan and Baby are related; not by blood, mind you, but they hatched from the same nest and are spiritually linked. That's why Rodan fights so hard to protect Baby; I think he knows they aren't really brothers, but he feels it's his duty to protect the little tyke, anyway.

Does anyone else listen to Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy" and think of "Save the Earth?"

As somebody else mentioned elsewhere in the thread, the best thing about this movie is the superb musical score. The music played over the closing credits, the 'Leaf Music', creates a brilliant effect, not to mention the return of Ifukube's "Horror of Godzilla".

I've only got this movie on bootleg. I really need to get a new copy sometime soon.
