November's been a slow month (good for the wallet tho') but I got a couple items I've been wanting for a long time.

Marmit Parababy Gomess & Littra - Gomess and Littra were some of the first Parababies, originally released back in 1998. They were also re-released in whole new sculpts as some of the last PBs, in 2005. Check out these links to the pics on Club Tokyo and you'll really see how the Parababy line evolved:

The 2005 set has been pretty tough to find. I was lucky to get it off ebay at a reasonable price.

Marmit Vinyl Paradise Godzilla 1966, Gallery version - I passed on this when it first came out, but regretted it shortly afterwards. Given how few VP fans there seem to be it's been really tough to find. This was another lucky ebay pickup ... I got it for about half what the last one I saw went for. It's not my favorite sculpt, but the colors work really well on this one and I'm glad I finally got it. ()

For a VP, that Godzilla's very nice. I like the 2005 Gomess set a lot, but must admit, the 98 versions are kinda cute. :)

I should be getting the CCP Jiras figure by the middle of the week. From what I've seen so far this is going to be one sweet looking toy.

Aside from various TFs, got a couple of very neat kaiju toys this week.

Action Monster Series Zetton - Won this guy off eBay, unopposed, for just $10. I already own the only other current Action Monster, Baltan, so I was planning on getting one sooner or later anyway. Zetton is made of a hard plastic rather than any vinyl, but isn't too heavy a figure. What is a bit unusual is his size, perhaps to accomodate the lights in his chest as well as his "face." Zetton's not quite at the 6" scale, and with his poseable antennae, is a quarter to a half inch taller than most figures I own. Still, this is a cool figure, and I'm a sucker for a cheap electronic Ultraman toy, and the Zetton vinyl has been almost unchanged since the 80s, so it's definitely a superior sculpt.

GD-76M Gigan - Any worries about ordering from Amenbo were completely unfounded. Gigan arrived in just a week and a half since I put in my order, and he's great. The joints are very tight on this one, as opposed to when I first pulled out my now-sold Death Trigger, and the chrome finish looks great. As I said before, the figure's currently discounted to just 2000 yen, or about $20 USD, on , and shipping is reasonable, so order one with confidence if you don't have this Gigan yet!

But there are a couple of disappointments. Only Gigan's chainsaw weapons got the full chrome treatment, not the more traditional-style claws, so I'm "forced" to display him in his revived mode if I want to truly show him off. Also, the screwed-on bottom of one of his feet seems a bit uneven, but I could fix that (very carefully).

Still haven't taken a pic of my new model that came with the Bandais. Hopefully will tonight.

Today I did manage to get a couple good ones. Scored 2 ornaments from American Greetiongs by chance. Just happened to make a wrong turn in the mall and realized we had a store! Buy one, get another 50% off, too! Really suprised by the speaker in this thing. Sounds great. By the way, the second is for my nephew. So I wonder if He'll actually like it compared to all the other Godzilla stuff I've gotten him for XMas.

Other than that, I got my first Godzilla Manga in the mail today. It's the Biollante one. Not a fan of the way Biollante is drawn, since it resembles practically nothing like her, and her final form is only in it for a few pages. My Japanese is still pretty poor and I only know one kanji, so I don't think I'll be reading this anytime soon. It'll be a fun little venture when I am finally able to read it.

Here's a new pickup that I was very lucky to get. Toygraph recently announced glow and black versions of their Godzilla 1954, and according to their website both figures pre-sold out. I was told they only made 50 of each. Of course production run #s are often inaccurate, but I've only seen 2 of these on Yahoo Japan which is a pretty small #.

I think this is one of the better Godzilla 1954 sculpts out there, and it's the only glow '54 that I really like.
