Just my 2 cents, but I really like Ultraman: Towards the Future, as it is one of my favorite Ultra Series. I have the entire series on VHS and would love to see it have a release on DVD.
I've only seen the first two episodes of Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero. It's okay, but not all that great. They certainly have great costumes, though. The music is a pretty good take on Barry Gray's scores. The spirit of the original series is in there (love the opening credits), but the production values were a mixed bag. It was a little better than the average DTV movie. It also lacked what Towards the Future had, at least: Power. Watching the first episode of Towards the Future, the climactic fight scene had a tremendous feeling of power to it. The dynamic photography, the elaborate miniature sets (which is as complex as New York City), the pyrotechnics, the action and the music were all powerful. The fight scene in Ultimate Hero was a joke in comparison (despite the midair chase scene being an excellent touch).
