Hellraiser...

Postby Danno » Tue Oct 31, 2006 7:09 pm

I keep tuning in towards the end when she finds out her uncle is alive or some nonsense because of a drop of blood on the floor... But I have to say, this movie from what I have seen sorta sucks. I personally feel its a bad attempt at trying to use gore to spook people, and the freaking Trilobites or whatever just come out of nowhere because, "YOU OPENED THE BOX?!" Man they are a colorful bunch, some chick with a home made tracheotomy, some guy that has those practical joke windup teeth for a mouth, fatass in swimwear goggles and acupuncture man gone wrong. WHAT?!....

I know there is a 2008 remake of this on the way directed by the same guy. I have to say... does anybody really like Hellraiser? This movie to me seems laughably bad. Oh my comments are meant to be completetly rude, so feel free to call me an idiot if you enjoy the movie. I'm sorta poking fun at it to make people laugh.

I love the Hellraiser movies! I rented the first one a while back when I was still in high school, wanting something scary to watch (I rented it along with The Relic, which was okay).

I was actually kind of dissapointed... the way Frank was revived was hard for me to digest at first and I wasn't really scared (except for when Frank appears and starts crawling on the floor towards Julia; I was tensed up at that part). But I loved the Cenobites! They were freakin' awesome; I loved their get-ups and the way they appear, and the fact that we see so little of them that their mystery is retained. I also like the fact that, as far as the first two films go, the Cenobites aren't really bad guys. They just do what they're supposed to. They play by the rules, and the real villains are people. Speaking of villains, Julia is one of the greatest because of the way she lures in men to revive Frank; she's a black widow!

I absolutely loved Hellraiser II, it was so damn epic and almost everything I wanted it to be. Hellraiser III went in the wrong direction, I think (I wanted to see Pinhead as a good guy) but at least it was fun. Part 4 was interesting but boring, and the rest... :puke: Inferno was cool, but after each sucessive film, I realized the new Hellraisers are just "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" movies hiding behind fancy cinematography and shoddy mind-f*** plotlines. I rented Hellworld and had to stop halfway through because it was so bad.

I hope the remake is cool. I'd rather see a sequel picking up where part two left off, showing us more of the Labyrinth and stuff, but oh well. I'll be glad to see the original Cenobites again... Butterball's my favorite!

I love the Hellraiser series...even enjoy the made for video one's that I've seen. (though I don't think I've seen the last two yet). I seem to be the only one who liked the fourth entry just as much as the others though. Personally I loved how it takes place in three distinct timelines and shows the history of the puzzle box. Didn't mind the sci-fi elements in the third segment either...it was cool. But then, I liked Jason X too... :D
