Kaiju/toku movies whose American/international versions I prefer over the Japanese versions? None.

Kaiju/toku movies whose American/international versions I like equally with the Japanese versions? Godzilla 2000 and Monster Zero.

Kaiju/toku movies whose American/international versions I like less than the Japanese versions, but still like the American/international versions considerably? Godzilla, Matango, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster (US), Son of Godzilla (US), Godzilla vs. Hedorah (international), Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla: Final Wars.

NOTE: I have yet to see the Japanese versions of Rodan, Frankenstein vs. Baragon, War of the Gargantuas or King Kong Escapes, and I have yet to see Battle in Outer Space or Mothra at all.

I always prefer the original version of a movie over any dub, special edition, director's cut or what have you. Because, you know, that's the movie in its' original form, and anything else doesn't seem "right" to me.

If that makes me a so called "purist", fantastic, couldn't care less what anyone labels me.

Easy one. Out of all the US vs. Japanese variants of Goji, I only prefer the US G2k version. Mike S and company took a movie, that in its original version was quite a mediocre, rushed attempt to capitalize on fandom G98 anger. The pacing and music in the original were AWFUL. And the US version corrected that while adding better sound. And fans still bust Schlessingers balls over it!

Now nostalgia makes me really like most of the old AIP type Goji films. I mean these were the versions I grew up on, when I was an innocent kid. Not the picky fanboy"urr must be widescreen and 5.1 sound" doofus I am now. But when you compare the US to originals of the Goji series as a whole, you more often than not find the originals superior(especially w/travesties such as KK vs. G, G85, and Varan)
