("Gojira" and "An Inconvenient Truth" are a much more appropriate double feature than you might imagine.)
With this one sentence, the author loses all credibility. Gojira was a serious statement about the horrific implications of nuclear weapons technology. It is an apolitical film that does not criticize or champion any nation or political point of view. This is one of the reasons why the film works so well. It's message is one of responsibility towards science. This message is echoed years later in the film Jurassic Park with the following line from Ian Malcolm:
"Your scientists were so preoccupied with wether or not they could they didn't stop to think if they should."
An Inconvienient Truth is a worthless propaganda film produced by a failed, corrupt politician.
Such a comparison is an insult to Honda, both the man and his message.
