This might be bad news to some, but Nin announced that the Wii will no longer play DVDs.

I'm rather pleased that Nintendo has kept the Classic controller's price so low. And I agree about the Wii Remote and Nunchuk getting packed seperatly - if they were packaged together {even at $60} I don't think as many folks would find a reason to complain. Id't be nice if Nintendo either started selling both components together and/or brought the price down to $55/$50.

I believe it's because Nintendo basically said it's a more powerful version of the cube (they didn't initially say that mind you). I mean you could make the same claim about the PS2 (hell that's what it is anyway) but I think people are even saying anything because of the competition taking the graphics to the next level. That's what this boils down to right now anyway. PS3/360 games are going to and already are looking amazing. Doesn't matter which one is more powerful, there have been some seriously nice looking games on the 360 already and then there looks to be some equally nice ones coming on PS3. I think with the Wii it'll go back to what I said... "Well I wonder how this would look if there were graphics like the other two systems?"

Me personally? I don't care about the power of the Wii. I can't play Metroid or Zelda or Mario on any other system. Hell, i'm EXTREMELY excited to play just Metroid.

I just wish Mario Galaxy was a launch title, but with Zelda right there... Prolly WISE not to have the two biggest franchises from Nintendo in competition with each other. That's okay though... I think much like Super Mario 64 introduced us to the analog stick, Zelda will introduce us to the Wii-mote and in good fashion.

I haven't seen to much about the Virtual Console Controller (AKA the Classic Controller). I'm assuming its coming out on the same day as the Wii, but does anyone know how much it will cost? Also, will it work with all of the old games (NES, SNES, N64, GCN, Genesis, NEC TurboGraphix)?

Also, I've never heard anything about the NEC TurboGraphix. Is there anywhere I can go to get a general overview of what this thing is?

Oh, and does anyone know what that stand on the bottom of the Wii is for? Is it just a regular old stand, or does it expand the functionality of the Wii (like Nintendo originally said).

The Classic Controller will cost a mere $19.99 - a very reasonable and affordable price point.

Nintendo never said anything about the stand expanding functionality - I'm not sure where that rumor came from, there is nothing special about the stand - it just gives you another way to set-up the system.

I can't seem to find a good resource on the TurboGrpahix - maybe someone else knows a good site for it.
