I grew up knowing the film as Godzilla vs. Monster Zero, but have since converted to just, plain Monster Zero. Much cooler, I think. I just can't understand why Toho didn't use it as the international title for the film. I mean, Ghidrah was known as such in the original version anyway. Invasion of Astro Monster is such a glaringly bad title, I would just love to know where the genius is that came up with that one!

When I first saw the title "Godzilla vs. Monster Zero", I could understand its marketing ploy. It's a Godzilla movie, so why not put his name in the title. Yet, I wholeheartedly agree with David. "Monster Zero" is one of the coolest names ever, and the fact that the main creature is Ghidrah, (while both Godzilla and Rodan are basically the secondary monsters), makes more sense title wise.
