So every "Godzilla Vs. Mothra/The Thing" NTSC VHS release has been the version that's been trimmed about 40 seconds? So I'm almost 29 and I still have yet to see the full length American version of the movie, meaning that my full screen "Godzilla Vs. Mothra" Simitar VHS release isn't the "full length" American theatrical version? I'm confused here. :?[/quote]

me too......exactly what is missing?? im 43... i first saw this movie on tv in 1969 and practically every year after till vhs then way more times....... then the simitar disc......
i dont recall anything going missing over the years....
other than the video genrated titles in place of the original titles wich popped up first in 1983.... first paramount release vhs

OK, granted I haven't read the entire thread yet since I'm a little late to the party so please forgive me if this has already been answered, but do we actually have any real proof that Mothra vs Godzilla has been cropped? Because we do all know that "16x9 enhanced" just means that a dvd is anamorphic and does not mean "this film has been cropped to 1.78:1", right? Because I don't see anything on the cover artwork that indicates its aspect ratio, only that it's anamorphically enhanced, hence presence of "16x9" on the specs list.

So do we actually have genuine confirmation that it's been cropped or are people just jumping to the wrong conclusion based on their mistaking "16x9" as meaning the film's aspect ratio and not simply the indication of anamorphic enhancement?

Woah, quite a few people are upset about this, even to the point of importing the Madman disk. I've said this many times, but it looks like I gotta say it again: Classic Media has worked really hard to make kickass releases for us and chose to use the best-looking, uncut elements and have lots of extras, in some ways even more than the Toho disks, and then you guys pass and buy something else just because the American version is cropped a little? And Kailem, the Madman disk does have the US version, but it's even further cropped to 1.33:1 and has less extras than the upcoming release.

Man, some of you people make this all sound like a person died.
