Wasn't the Original Joker an accountant that worked for the Chemical company who got mixed up with thugs wanting to rob the place??

I seem to recall something about him wearing a hood to hide his identity.. after he fell in the chemical vat, he escaped, got home and found his hair turned green and his skin bleachd white..
The site of himself disfigured drove him insane on the spot..

nope, he was a regular costumed villain, the Red Hood. of course, in almost 70 years, the origins have been changed time and again, but he was not even psychopathic originally.

How do you guys think Nolan is going to play it? I mean, having a guys hair turn green, face turn white and lips turn red all by the same vat of chemicals is kinda OUT THERE.

By Batman experiences are pretty limited.. But in the Graphic Novel The Dark Knight Returns Joker is seen putting on red Lipstick on lips as white as the rest of his skin.

Not sure if this is a constant or just something that Frank miller decided to do with the character.

I'd call it a bit less of a stretch to say that the chemical destroyed the Pigmentation of his skin (Basically rendering him Albino) and altered his hair follicles causing the hair to grow Green.

Dark Knight Returns is outside the normal series continuity. In almost all canon tellings of the Joker's origin, the white skin, red lips, and green hair are all permanent and due to the chemicals he fell into.
