I'm at the midway point of the set now. Seems like the show doesn't really pick up steam until Episode 6 and the bizarre cocoa loving monster. The first few episodes seem to merely feature a monster appearing and the Science Patrol coming to save the day. After episode 6, it seems like we're treated to more exotic locales and interesting characters, and the monster fights get a bit more imaginative.

"The Mysterious Dinosaur Base" has been my favorite thus far. It was great seeing Jirass/Godzilla take on Ultraman, and the storyline was a lot of fun too. I also enjoyed the bonus of seeing Ultraman laugh and ham it up for the first time! How did they not get sued by Toho for such a blatant Godzilla clone, or was it permissible because it was Eiji Tsuburaya stealing his own creation's image?
