Godzilla-less Godzilla series

Postby TitanoGoji16 » Tue Oct 14, 2003 4:46 am

You know, after reading the thread in the Heisei forum about what would've happened if the Futurians hadn't interferred, I began thinking about the Showa series and asked myself, What if Showa Godzilla had never existed? And as I answered myself, I came up with this scenario. Sure, there may be some parts that are odd or far-fetched (or contain a plothole :P), but it's all for fun. So enjoy...

* * * * * *

1954:
Nothing, nothing at all... :P

1955:
Angilas rises from the sea and destroys Osaka.

1956 - 1961:
Japan suffers several attacks from Angilas.

1962:
As Angilas attacks Japan once again, Kong is brought to the mainland by Pacific Pharmacuticals. Kong eventually escapes and battles Angilas atop Mt. Fuji. Though at first overwhelmed by Angilas' fangs and spikes, Kong manages to come out victorious. Having not been soundly thrashed or dumped into the sea, Kong takes residence on Fuji. The military decides to leave him there unless he causes any trouble. They ship food to Fuji to keep Kong from leaving the mountain to search for food.

1964:
Mothra's egg washes ashore thanks to a hurricane, and is snatched by Happy Enterprizes. Angilas was also thrown around by the storm, and renews his rampages. He makes a beeline for the egg, and Kong senses Angilas' return. Mothra arrives to protect her egg, and Angilas is double-teamed by Mothra and Kong. Angilas retreats, and Mothra and Kong duke it out. Kong is battered by Mothra's hurricane winds and poison powder, and retreats to Mt. Fuji. The twin larvae hatch, and the three Mothras return to Infant Island.

Japan receives a triple-whammy as Angilas returns to Japan, Rodan rises from Mt. Aso, and King Ghidorah arrives from space. Angilas and Rodan begin fighting, and Kong is once again drawn to his arch enemy. The three Mothras return to Japan to battle Ghidorah. When Ghidorah slays their mother, the two larvae turn to the trio of battling beasts for help. Reluctant at first, Kong, Angilas, and Rodan realize the threat Ghidorah presents, and the five daikaiju fight King Ghidorah. The three-headed dragon is no match for King Kong, Rodan, Angilas, and two Mothras, and retreats back into outer space.

1965:
Planet X is discovered, and is found to be under attack by King Ghidorah. The Xians say they need the kaiju responsible for defeating "Monster Zero" before: King Kong, Angilas, and Rodan (again ignoring Mothra). The people of Earth "lend" the kaiju to Planet X, who soundly defeat Ghidorah. It turns out to be a trick, and the Xians unleash all four kaiju on Earth. The humans fight back with the A-Cycle Light Ray, and the trio turn on Ghidorah. The creatures battle ferociously until they plummet into the sea, and only Ghidorah emerges.

1966:
The Red Bamboo go on about their business, not distracted by Godzilla's presence on their island. However, the twin Mothras, now both adults, attack Letchi Island and retrieve the Infant natives. They kill Okondoru (they ignore Ebirah, unable to battle a sea creature) and damage the Bamboo's base, causing it to explode in a nuclear blast.

1967:
Weather experiments of Solgell Island go awry, mutating several creatures to abnormal size. Minya hatches, but is quickly slain and devoured by several Kamacuras. Spiega emerges and battles the swarm of Kamacuras. He manages to kill a couple, and the others retreat. Another experiment brings the temprature down and freezes Spiega and the remaining Kamacuras.

1971:
Hedorah arrives in Japan, and is challenged by King Kong. The mighty ape puts up a good fight, but is no match for the Smog Monster. Kong is horribly wounded and retreats. However, the military fights back with their electrodes. While not enough to kill him, the electrodes are enough to harm Hedorah and cause him to retreat to the sea, feeding off of oil tankers.

1970s:
Monster Island's residents: King Kong, Angilas, Rodan, the Mothras, Spiega, the Kamacuras', Ebirah, and Gorosaurus.

1972:
The Nebulans attack using two controlled space beasts: Gigan and King Ghidorah. They defeat Hedorah, sending the Smog Monster fleeing into the depths of outer space. As they go on to destroy Japan, King Kong and Angilas counterattack, and are at first overpowered by the evil duo. They eventually gain the upper hand, however, and send Gigan and Ghidorah flying back into space.

1973:
Seatopia attacks Japan with their god, Megalon, aided by Gigan. Kong again defends Japan from the duo, aided by a robotic warrior named Jet Jaguar. The battle goes back and forth, until Megalon and Gigan retreat.

1974:
The Simeons from the Third Planet invade, unleashing their ultimate creation: MechaKong! After giving Angilas a sound thrashing, MechaKong is challenged by the real thing, though their first encounter ends in a double knock out. When MechaKong returns, he is challenged by the ancient god King Seesar, who is soon joined by Kong and Angilas. The three kaiju manage to take out MechaKong, who explodes into shrapnel.

1975:
The Simeons return, aided by Dr. Mafune. Kong finds himself up against MechaKong II and Titanosaurus, and is badly thrashed by them. But once Titanosaurus is taken out by the Supersonic Oscillator, Kong manages to defeat MechaKong once and for all, then attacks Titanosaurus. Their struggle is so fierce that they topple into the sea, and neither beast emerges.

1976 - 1999:
Titanosaurus, Manda, Baragon, and Varan are added to Monster Island. Forcefields are added and it is renamed Monsterland. The two Mothras have died by now, and the current incarnation is a single adult.

1999:
The Kilaaks attack, unleashing ever kaiju on Monsterland on the major cities of the globe (Kong, naturally, attacks New York). Soon, the crew of the Moonlight SY-3 destroys the Kilaaks' mind control machine, freeing the monsters. The humans seize control of the monsters and send them to attack the Kilaaks' Base of Operations at Mt. Fuji. The Kilaaks bring in King Ghidorah to protect them, but he is no match for the combined strength of King Kong, Rodan, Angilas, Mothra, Gorosaurus, Titanosaurus, Spiega, Baragon, Varan, and Manda (Ebirah can't do much at Mt. Fuji :P). After Kong destroys the Kilaaks' Base and the SY-3 defeats the Fire Dragon, the kaiju return to Monsterland.

AWESOME! This was very interesting and made sense. I can't detect anything wrong with it.

Now do the Heisei series. :P

indeed, very intriguing!! And I really do agree with most of what you wrote. That would most likely be the outcome if Godzilla had not existed.

However, you did leave out King Kong Escapes and Frankenstein Conquers the World . . .

I like the idea of angilas getting a solo film in place of Godzilla Raids Again.

I can actually picture a series of monster vs. monster flicks starring Kong. He's always scrapping with some dinosaurian beast anyways. I can imagine his foes might have stayed pretty much either the overgrown animal variety, or the prehistoric monster. Once they'd put kong-in-space, then you know you've hit the 70's flicks!
