Something I noticed in Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla . . .
In the scene where Interpol agent Nanbara cleverly starts Shimizu's car with his garrote wire, the car explodes. Look at the brief second shot of the car in flames: It was from Godzilla Vs. Gigan, when the heroes' car gets hit by the Godzilla Tower's laser!

I first noticed the anomaly when I watched G vs MG 74 on VHS many years ago - the car owned by the Interpol agent was a sleek looking coupe, whereas the car that blows up was an old looking saloon. Perhaps it was brought it from a junk yard specially for the explosion, another cost cutting measure by Toho!

Hell, I noticed that when I first saw the movie, back in '88! I also noticed that the shot at the beginning, in Princess Nami's vision, was also lifted from Godzilla vs. Gigan. Though, with that one, they found a clever way to disguise the fact that it was a stock shot of Ghidorah blowing sh*t up.

Heh, In Megalon you see Megalon jump at attack planes...only to have Gigan's claw knock them out of the sky. Heh, I noticed that when I was really young and in order to convince myself it actually happened I used the slo-mo feature on my VCR...
