RETURN TO BOGGY CREEK isn't even an actual sequel to LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK although everyone thinks it is just because it came out a few years later and has "Boggy Creek" in the title. It's actually an appallingly bad attempt at taking the Fouke monster tale and spinning it into a nauseating Disney-esque tale about some children that get rescued by the monster during a hurricane-quality storm at the end of the film - this rescue is accompanied by one of the kids (played by the late Dana Plato, the daughter from D'iffert Strokes) repeatedly yelling, "Yeah, Boggy!"

Aside from a subplot involving hunters in the swamp looking for the monster, the Boggy Creek creature barely factors into the film until the last five minutes and even then it's only seen from a distance. Basically, a big hairy shadow pulls the kids boat to safety during a stormy flood; the movie is mainly about the kids catfishing, hearing colorful tall tales from grandpa, and mom (played by Dawn Wells, aka "Mary Anne" on Gilligan's Island) worrying about her children 24/7.

As bad as might be, at least it's true to its subject matter and not just boring kiddy crap.

Let us not forget 1976's THE MYSTERIOUS MONSTERS. This one is forever etched in my brain. I was 11 when it was unleashed upon my impressionable self.

God is in the details.

CLAWED: THE LEGEND OF SASQUATCH

Got a look at another new upcoming Bigfoot flick coming to DVD in May. Nothing special, not terrible - definitely hokey.

Oh my I vaguely remember that show...

I saw Abominable last night on Sci-Fi. Kinda interesting with Hitchcock's Rear Window being used as the premise but the creature ended up looking like Jack Elam with fur.
