Well, like I said, Red Ronin easily has the superior arsenal, but Rob is so concerned about doing any actual damage that he wouldn't really use any of it. While all Jet Jaguar has is martial arts moves, he at least concentrates on causing harm to his opponents. If he's able to jar Red Ronin enough to disconnect Rob, and keep up with his attacks, he should be able to keep Red down.

Another point is that Showa Godzilla obviously has the superior breath weapon. He's got an atomic ray while Marvel Godzilla simply has fire breath. I'm not saying its not powerful, but it's still fire breath. Also, if Showa G finds himself losing a battle, he often pulls out some new power to help himself win. Marvel G just sort of keeps clawing, biting, and using his breath. I'd like to think that Showa G, who beat Mechagodzilla and Titanosaurus by himself, could eventually overcome that. Finally, Marvel G doesn't appear to have regeneration, just really tough skin.

I'm not trying to say I think it'll be an easy fight. Like you said, Red Ronin's arsenal is great (though it's nothing compared to Mechagodzilla's, which Showa G survived), and will definitely knock Showa G and Jet around at first. The Marvel pair might even come close to winning. But I think ultimately the Toho duo, between Godzilla's regeneration and atomic ray and Jet Jaguar's willingness to kick some ass, will come out on top.

And yeah, let's say they're the same size... had no idea Marvel G was that huge.

While Marvel did a truly fine job of down-playing Godzilla's actual origins, one really should expect that from a late-70s, American comic. Hindsight is wonderful. That said, Marvel's version did sometimes remind readers that the big guy wasn't just big, he was radioactive... such as the monthly description line.
Still, though, making too much of Godzilla leaving radioactive footprints across the U.S. might've been begging for a detailed examination of why Godzilla was radioactive in the first place. 'Wasn't happening.

Rob Takagawa was a bit of a whiner at first, but he matured reasonably as the series wore on. Did he not chose the lesser of two evils and trash the giant yeti? Granted, he did try to minimize Yetrigar's pain and suffering, but Rob ultimately figured a little rockslide-to-the-head was better than letting his big green pal keep getting punched like an L.A. cop.

I suspect Rob would've let off some steam against Red Ronin, which would've been "just" a robot. Perhaps if the scenario was written to allow Rob to grok JJ's semi-sentient nature it'd be different, but JJ had trouble with burning grass and trees. RR's lasersword, missiles, and whatnot would've made quick work of the sadistically-grinning freakbot.

Marvel Godzilla looked strange but had a huge size advantage. He was also pretty quick to lunge in with physical attacks. Although his breath weapon was, admittedly, cast as a pretty flaming thing, the radioactive nature was at least admitted. It was also shown to be pretty powerful, if the plot required.
Marvel's Godzilla was largely animalistic, but did sometimes show a glimpse of true intelligence. The series was written shortly after the end of a sappy string of Godzilla-the-hero movies, after all.

Against the Marvel team, the Toho team would bring superior coordination. JJ and Godzilla seemed able to communicate in a quite passable fashion, while Rob/RR always had to guess what to do to best help "his" Godzilla - and sometimes failed. (Slashing your buddy with a giant lightsaber isn't real swift.)

JJ might have the size advantage against RR, at that. Certainly Rob, as eager-but-untrained mechwarrior, relied way too much on visual cues. JJ could avoid notice for a critical moment and pin RR's ankles, allowing Godzilla to do one of his utterly ridiculous tailslides. The impact would scramble RR and knock Rob out of the control helmet while the narrator tried to type quickly enough to justify a last-second escape.

Against the big Marvel Godzilla, though... 'Too hard to tell without reading old issues to look for a weakness. Probably the Toho team would fare best if they made fun of Marvel G's bizarre appearance.
