RTD has finally topped "End of the World" as his best DW script. Really, "Bad Wolf" was a great episode (and totally worth the two week wait) which serves as a great build up, I mean, I know it's coming. I know who the villians really are, but the episode almost works better if you knew the Daleks were behind it all; it saves the best for last and builds your anticipation for the payoff at the end!
And what a payoff! The last five minutes were some of the best minutes in DW! The reveal of the Daleks, what with two hundred warships and half a million troops, give the Doctor and ultimatum. Then, the Doctor, with literally nothing but his wits, out-threats them!
But the episode as a whole was neat. The three regulars all get nice bits and their was quite a crop of suprisingly interesting guest characters. Their's Lynda who's "sweet", that guy on Weakest Link who's out for himself, the people managing the sattelite who suspect something going on, and the Controller!
I'm glad I hadn't completely spoiled myself. I thought the Daleks were the ones who brought the Doctor and friends (and Tardis!) there to get rid of him once and for all, but I was much more suprised, and delighted, to find out the the Controller had brought him there because she knew he was the only one who could go up againts the Daleks.
Did I mention how great the last five minutes are! The script was great, the acting was great, the special effects were great, the music was great... I mean ending the episode with thousands of Daleks chanting "Exterminate" is incredibly obvious but was done just so cool-ly!
And Sci Fi rocked quite a bit tonight. Their were four fantastic promos for the next episode (which revealed the Daleks... but still they were well done commercials!), and clip of an interview from the DVD, and an add for the book series!
PS- Still real sad to see Eccleston leave... and Sci Fi better not wait a full year for Series 2!
