If. If. If. If.
Sliding doors, people.
Is this to assume that every and all Godzilla origins can be traced back to that Godzillasaurus 'discovered' on Lagos? From 54's G to 85's G? Such as it were, this is why there can be considered multiple timelines and stories to begin with.
IF the Futurians never took him, then 54 and 85 still would have happened. He would still be approx 80 meters tall with a penchant for tossing trains, batting planes and burning cities. Would he have fought countless monsters on his way to the millenium? Perhaps, but i'd like to see more info on how these other monsters came to be.
On that, Biollante would be created. That movie would accurately portray events. The events in vKing Ghidorah obviously wouldn't have happened, effectively eliminating that movie and vMechagodzilla2. But this is where they really screwed up i feel. In vBiollante, they should've kept the same suit with little variation that they used in 85. As it stands, G looks like he would in the future, when the Futurians were supposed to nab him, and it would have been easier to explain away a change in appearance with "modern nuclear energy" since the suit would change then.
Does vMothra occur? Yes, but with the standard G evolved from the original 54 version. And could this G beat the combined forces of Battra & Mothra? Or would they even combine? You'd like to think the writers would include G in this battle, but does he really even need to show up? This really should have been 'Rebirth of Mothra 1', with no G at all. There was ample story without him, and his showing kinda just threw a monkey in the wrench.
Obviously, these movies can be seen to 'grease the Godzilla movie machine'. When really only the last 3 need be made at all, with small parts of the others included.
Not that i'd change what they did! But you said the time travel didn't happen...
