Looks like Seth McFarlane(Family Guy) made it!

So much for "inspired by Max Fleischer!"

LOL Just like "The Batman" this will be another animated series I'll be ignoring. The Fleischer Superman 'toons are still the best.

Is it me, or is the blue in the uniform brighter than earlier pictures?

Frankly, the costume has always looked to me like something you'd see in a Halloween episode of any TV series. You know, where the regulars dress up to go a party or somesuch and they wear suits of a fictional character that are close but not quite correct. Heck, the suit in that doofy looking cartoon above is closer to the comics version...

Routh still has yet to impress me in any of these shots. He still looks to me like the lead in a high school production of "It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman!" I hope he really does have some chops to show, since this film seems to be royally riding on all the best stuff from the Reeve incarnation. Face it, minus Williams' music and Brando's voiceover, that mega hyped trailer played like an extended Smallville promo...

Suerphero costumes ALWAYS look better in the comics (with one exception being Spider-Man, in my opinion). They were created for that medium. When translated to live-action they do need to be altered--and in some cases, toned-down--in order to look more naturalistic.

By the way, I HIGHLY disagree with the Halloween costume comment regarding Routh's supersuit. After hearing about Tim Burton's plans I'm ecstatic that we got a costume as faithful as the one we got in SR. Other than a few alterations here and there it IS Superman's costume.

The Christopher Reeve suit wasn't altered at all. Didn't need it. It was taken straight outta the books. As such, it was the most faithful superhero costume ever. (It was even used in the Superboy series.) Of course, this was the days when live action superheroes actually wore cloth instead of latex fetish 'armor' ( double curse you, Tim Burton!!!) or rubberised fabrics and didn't have to have their uniforms 'translated' for 'naturalism'...
