Well, Voyager was the first ST series I ever watched regularly, so I hold a torch for it. I just love the crew dynamic, even if Janeway's a frequent hypocrite and the stories sometimes don't make much sense.
Recommendations? TNG. Especially seasons 4-7. Real primo stuff. I know everyone loves the original series, but with the exception of a few greats like "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield", it never really has done that much for me. I think the technical limitations to the ambitious storylines shine through too much for me, and I think the original crew never really got to the top of their form until the 80's movies, from Wrath of Khan to The Undiscovered Country.
(In other words, TOS Movies > TOS series; TNG > TNG movies.)
But that's just my two cents.

I'd give Enterprise season 3 a chance, the dislike aside from some fans its the best season out of all 4. The year long arc was very very good. Season 4 was the second best IMO, well except that lousy finale. Too bad the series was cancelled because the show picked up steam and was finding its footing.

I really enjoyed all of ENTERPRISE. Never felt anything for VOYAGER at all. Just never really cared about the characters, and felt a bit betrayed that life on the other side of the galaxy was still humans with various bumps on their heads. I LOVED DS9, I really loved those characters, though I think I started to get a bit of burn out by the time of the Dominion War. It was me, not it.
I will always love TNG, especially seasons 3 - 6, with bits of 2 and 7 thrown in for good measure. Those were wonderful characters with their own arcs, and it still remains my favorite.
TOS I still watch occasionally for the nostalgia value, though a few of them ("City on the Edge of Forever", "Balance of Terror", "Doomsday Machine", "Amok Time" and "Mirror, Mirror" come to mind) are some of the best television ever, IMO. So.. have you watched them yet, gfanikf? Shore Leave is really a kinda strange episode, being more imaginative (runaway, that is) than science fiction. The Squire of Gothos i've always liked because Trelayne's power is so great yet so immature... The ending really puts the perspective straight.
You gotta try some 'pinnacle' episodes - everybody seems to love The City on the Edge of Forever. I really don't know why, although The Guardian is a cool 'character'. The Trouble with Tribbles, Balance of Terror, Mirror, Mirror, The Corbomite Maneuver & The Menagerie 1 & 2 are good ones to start with. Not favorites of mine so much, but solid episodes i feel (for the series).
