I liked THE INVASION. I think that of all the Cybermen episodes
they were the most GLOBAL threat in that episode. Also Troughton's
Doctor appeared VERY worried through out making their menace
even more apparent.

The Tom Baker Gothic horror Who adventure "Horror of Fang Rock" just came out on DVD yesturday here in the states. Got it for $19.99 too, pretty cool considering I've consistantly paid $24.99 for 'em.

(Spoilers, just in case there are those who want to get the DVD that haven't seen it)

A very neat episode. I of course love Baker's performance ("Gentlemen, the lighthouse is under attack and by morning we may all be dead... anyone interested?") and that coupled with the dark, foggy horror elements is always a winner, and like Pyramids all the guest starts are killed off.

Liked Rueben the Rutan, kinda dopey when it's the tiny prop, but neat looking when he's close up and he's a slightly pulsating ball of goo with hair in it.

Managed to get The Curse of Fenric on DVD. Of the two versions, I think I prefer the Special Edition movie. Don't get me wrong, the original episodic format was pretty good, but it seems to suffer from the timing cuts and a few iffy effects.

My least favourite bit is when the British and Russian soldiers first agree to join forces against Fenric and Millington. It just seems... off.

Speaking of McCoy's historonics in the episode, am I the only one one on the planet to get that through most of it McCoy is playing the Doctor bluffing anger and omnipotence? I so often seen his performance here brought at as evidence of his incompentence as an actor ("Or I'll put a terrible something on you!", "They're will be no battle here!"), but I think they are mising the point.
