Just to put in a couple cents into this discussion.

This is in responce to the idea of kong being able to constantly outmanuver the atomic blast of Godzilla. I think he could outmanuver some but Godzilla will start hitting some of those blasts and they will hurt. If Godzilla was able to take out the Ultra, super, nimble Megaguris (who IMHO is the hardest Kaiju to hit due to the outrageous speed and manuverability) then he will get hits from a land based nimble opponent eventually.

Oh well my thought on the subject.

Don't flame me too bad.

^^Yeah, I always thought the movie really let Kong cheat. I mean, his cest is set aflame by G's building-destroying ray and all that happens is some comedic singeing? (sp) As I see no reason to cheat as such when discussing a fight outside the dramatic constraints of a movie, Kong has a weak defense and no real offense (even though lightning is supposedly Godzilla's weakness, it only seems to pisshim off or momentarily paralize him), wheras Godzilla has both a stronger defense and offense. It's a pretty stupid fight from the onset, like "Frankenstein vs. The Phantom of the Opera." One's just an ugly dude, and the other is a really powerful ugly dude.

Bah, if I made a remake of the movie, Kong would definitely have a chance. Not sure who I'd have win, I'd probably go with a tie.

Up from the undercaves beneath the earth's crust, came yet another monster of
mother earth's wrath against man's folly, after the many years of which the
likes of King Kong and Godzilla came, rises...

Hardly did crap? Well, it caused Kong to wander off like a total "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" scratching his head. And that was the Showa breath, think of Mire's beam.

Godzilla would have killed Kong outright if not for supreme luck (read: most effing blatant plot device ever). LIGHTNING STRIKES HIM!!! If the humidity had been down 10% on that part of Mount Fuji today Kong would have been flat-out killed. Trying WATCHING THE MOVIE!

I think the point is, Kong DID beat him. Try watching the movie :P

Actually, even if you say Kong only one due to a chance occurence, then surely you must concede that at his most powerful, Kong definitely has the capacity to defeat Godzilla.

If Kong's strength is simply increased in the heads of his supporters until he can beat anything, then there is no point in continuing this argument. Without standard of comparison, this is meaningless.

Fact:
Toho "Kong" has proven his ability to get beaten senseless by Godzilla without divine intervention.

If you are making up a Kong in your heads that is faster than a speeding Rodan, more powerful than a Destroyer, and able to leap Empire State Buildings in a single bound, you have fun with that.
