That's not true. Back in 1933, I wrote and circulated a review of KING KONG amongst my esteemed colleagues within in the Monster Zero Gentlemens' Club and Literary Review Circle. As I recall, I savaged the movie for its primitive special effects, Robert Armstrong's over-the-top acting, its racist portrayal of the natives (I was quite the activist on such things at the time), and proclaimed it "The worst Kong film ever".
I'll have to dig that up from my files and scan and post it sometime. Ah, youth.
