Oh, you are absolutely right. I know I am speaking to the collective wall here, one way or another. I, though will voice my opinion whenever I see fit, because it is the fandom that drives this industry, but like other fandoms, Star Wars, Star Trek, Ultraman etc, we are fans because of what someone along the way created, and now the fandom has grown to the point where they feel that they call the shots.
I mean, it's nice if they listen to us, but these projects are first and foremost the property of their creators. They want to be the ones to mold it into a creation for all to enjoy....some work, some don't.
Example: George Lucas GAVE us Star Wars. Wasn't planning on making 5 sequals, but did because there was a rabid fan base, BUT, still made the movies HE wanted to make, that is his right, just as it is for Daiei has THE RIGHT to do as they please with their franchise.
Trust me, there is no single person on this board that would even begin to test the limits of my patience. I don't claim to know every bit of kaiju trivia out there but dont need to to be a true fan.
