O.K., time to step in since I finally saw this last night. Notice I am posting in this thread??? Yeah, I really liked the movie and am at a bit of a loss as to what people hate about it so much. I know there are pages and pages and pages of stuff written as to why, but I am at a loss still. It does have enough monster action for me (though it could use more, but then again, which G movie CAN'T use more monster action???), Don Frye was not NEARLY as bad as I have heard, and found nothing wrong with him at all, the music and editing might work, but I can't say for sure since I have no idea what is being said. The kid with the turtle was a terrible scene though, IMO. The "Pimp scene" would have been better had they not used the dubbing and had they not used the sound effect as the hats flew away.
Martial Arts? Could have been better, but I'll live with it.
FX? Can't say completely due to the picture quality being just O.K., but they looked fine to me, and no worse than the worst we have seen.
I love, absolutely LOVE Kaiser. He looks great IMO, so I can't relate to the problems with him.
King Seesar is no worse here than in
G vs. MG, but I wish his ears were more like they were then.
Yeah, I would have liked more Hedorah, but I say that about
G vs. Hedorah also.
Seriously though, the complaints about he amount of monster action are crazy. How can we all (or many of us) love (, or atleast be forgiving of) movies like
Godzilla Vs. The Sea Monster and
Son Of Godzilla, and yet turn on a movie such as this with soooo much monster action.
Eh, whatever. Some of us like the movie, some love it, some hate it. I am just thrilled to say that I am in the "Love" camp! Heck, I have no doubt it will be topping my list of fave G-films.
But what do I know, I really like
Godzilla Vs. Space Godzilla, Godzilla Vs. Megalon, and
Godzilla Vs. Hedorah!!!
